Landscaping is a passion of mine. I love to take a vacant, barren looking yard, and turn it into a beautiful picture. Creating quiet spots, secret retreats, and
places one can bird watch or simply "vege out" in, is very much a part of my design interest. |

The brown of the desert is very wearing on the eye, at least after an initial interest. So are the bulbous, boring, Juniper trees that dot the landscape. To break the monotony and
create more interest I revamped the entry (below) and added lots of color and texture. First I broke through a line of boring junipers and installed a new entryway using bricks, stones and wood. I am
always searching for new colors for ground covers. Adding some lavendar colored gravel to the terracotta gravel (below left) does a nice job to brighten the mood, and highlights the changes and surrounding
mountains. |
