The architecture in New Mexico and particularly Santa Fe tends to be rather obscure, flat and somewhat invisible but the insides of most
modern homes are often lavishly decorated.. |

(The brown of the desert is very wearing on the eye after an initial interest. So are the bulbous boring Junipers that dot the landscape and so to break the monotony and create
interest I revamped the entry (below) and added lots of color and texture. First I broke through a line of boring junipers and installed a new entryway using bricks, stones and wood. I am always
searching for new colors for ground covers. Adding some lavendar colored gravel to the boring terracotta gravel (left) does a nice job to brighten the mood and highlights the changes and surroundings (right).
